River Ranch RV Park, Cabins and Lodge Apartments is located just a short walk to the many activities Red River, New Mexico has to offer, while offering a quiet, rustic, Rocky Mountain retreat. Whether you prefer to stay close and fish at River Ranch, or get out and about, Red River offers perfect summer weather, great food, entertainment and shopping.
Summer Camping Cabins
River Ranch cabins offer a real rustic mountain experience with the comforts of kitchens and bathrooms. Cabins have gas heat and double beds. One two bedroom cabin has a fireplace. Linens are not provided - campers like to bring sleeping bags or linens are available for an additional fee. All cabins are located among the beautiful trees and within strolling distance to River Ranch's lake and stream. Cabins do not have TV.
River Ranch RV sites have electrical and water hookups, 53 have sewer hookups and 24 have satellite TV hookups. Tent sites have no hookups. There are bathhouses, a dump station and a laundromat.
River Ranch lodge apartments feature a living area with fireplace, color TV, fully equipped kitchen, two beds, shower/tub combination and wall to wall carpet. All linens are furnished in the Lodge apartments.
River Ranch provides RV supplies, ice, propane, a grocery, fishing supplies and a guest laundry to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Red River is Your Summer Playground!
Red River is located at the top of New Mexicos Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway in the Sangre de Cristo Range of the Rocky Mountains. At 8,500' elevation, summer days average a comfortable 75°, and nights are cool and blanketed by millions of stars. Red River is the perfect vacation getaway, no matter how you like to vacation! Be as active as you like - there's lots to do - or just relax and enjoy watching the hummingbirds. Go hiking or mountain biking on any of the Carson National Forest's 138 trails. You can even take your bike up on the ski lifts and ride back down.
Nearby you will find excellent rock climbing, world-class golf, whitewater rafting, hot air ballooning, rock climbing, and llama trekking. Go horseback riding through alpine meadows carpeted with wildflowers. Wildlife abounds, so be ready with your camera! Once your horse is bedded down for the night, mosey on over to a Cowboy Evening with barbecue and entertainment under the stars. And in July, it's time to RODEO! The Cowboys New Year Rodeo is a tradition not to be forgotten in the west.
Fishing for native cut throat or brown trout can provide a tasty dinner for the grill. Jeep and 4-wheeling in the magnificent Carson National Forest provide a great day of sightseeing, or take Northern New Mexico's most popular day trip around the Enchanted Circle, by car, motorcycle (or bicycle!), through magnificent mountain scenery and high desert to historic Taos for galleries and museums, dining and shopping.
And no matter what time of year you visit, there is always something going on in this little town. Red River hosts a Memorial Day weekend motorcycle rally, culminating in an Enchanted Circle Ride to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire. The River and Brews is a much-loved local Blues Festival featuring local micro-brewed beer. And of Course, Red River has the best little July 4th celebration anywhere. Bring your appetite for the Chili Cookoff, your parasol for the Antique Car Show, and there's even a town wide garage sale! Red River is a tiny town that parties in a big way. And of course, this beautiful Rocky Mountain town is also the perfect place to just relax and enjoy cool summer days and star-filled nights in some of the most beautiful country anywhere!
