A real Old West vacation
According to legend, The Laguna Vista Lodge has a lady ghost who lives upstairs and visits the dining room on occasion, using the hidden staircase. The dining room was once the lobby of the El Monte Hotel, built circa 1890s, and the Saloon dates back to 1898. Back then gold nuggets from the mining camps of nearby Baldy Town and Elizabethtown passed over the gambling tables. Just imagine New Mexico Governors and other well-to-do elite mixing with gold miners and mountain men in outlaw casinos and a hotel of ill repute!
With newly remodeled main lodge guest rooms, suites, private cabins and a two-bedroom apartment, guests can enjoy modern comforts and all the amenities in whatever style accommodations they choose! And the Historic Restaurant is a culinary delight. Frommer's Travel Guide rates it the best Restaurant and Hotel in the Valley.
Enjoy a wealth of recreation activities
At the Laguna Lodge, you are only minutes from world-class skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, sleigh riding and ice fishing. Right outside the back door is Eagle Nest Lake, renowned for trout fishing, and the nearby Cimarron River boasts legendary fly fishing.
